I don’t know which one is the real me. The person before alcohol or the one after!

I don’t know which one is the real me. The person before alcohol or the one after!

I really enjoy the person after alcohol, he is happy, certain, passionate and sees life in beautiful eyes. As weird as it sounds, this is what every alcoholic say about himself. The first step is to acknowledge your problem, but what if my problem is not really something I want to get rid of?

I have been drinking consequently for 7 years. I have a daily routine of finishing work and hitting up my “Booze”. I have always counted on Mr. Jamson to handle any stress and problems I would face in my daily life. Indeed, this is a wrong technique I have manifested to help my self encounter any dilemma in my life.  Yet, with Mr. Jamson everything is calm and solvable. I know what you’re thinking; this guy is an alcoholic and he is attached to it. However, the life I live in Lebanon- Middle East is some how like an innocent man on death row. People here kill each other for the stupidest reasons you couldn’t possibly imagine. Just right now, I have received instant news on my cellphone saying, “ A grenade was thrown in north Lebanon and injured 6 people”.

Whatever continent you are, Europe, America, Africa, you may wonder; is that a regular thing?

Believe me when I tell you, in Lebanon people kill each other for the sake of religion, and I’m not talking about Muslims against Christians (you know the old bullshit conflict) NO, but Muslims are killing Muslims and Christians and are killing Christians, all out of politics!

We really don’t have any security. Everybody here is armed. Not Gang armed like we see in Hollywood movies, but self-armed just to protect them selves from each other! We are like sheep surrounded with a wolf clan. However, the reality is everybody is a sheep and every body is a wolf! To explain this frustrating metaphor I can give you an example on the daily street life in Beirut City. – A grid of political parties, in which every party is related to a religious sect. Every sect has its own party and yet its own street. So street “X” of a political party “Y” with affiliation of a religious sect “Z” is always fighting with street “A” with its political party “B” of a different sect affiliation “C”. So, if “Y” met with “B” there will be a definite Bloodshed! Now take this simple equation and substitute it with every street and every country of the 10452 km square of Lebanon.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, my bloggers friend from all around the globe, don’t you think I have a reasonable motive to drink? I am just a simple young man, who fell in love with Henry David Thoreau, and Leo Tolstoy and just wants to live a simple and a beautiful life.

Is that too much to ask??
